New England Ducati Owners Club Passport Rally Underway
Published: Tuesday, May 25 2010 - Vermont Motorcycle News Archive
Riders participating in the 2010 New England Ducati Owner’s Club Passport Rally earned a stamp for the Meet in The Middle Ride this past Sunday. The ride was the first event in the Passport Rally, which awards riders for attending club events, visiting Ducati dealerships and riding to specific destinations.
The passport rally is a competition to see who can earn the most passport stamps. When you ride to a dealer or attend an event, your passport gets stamped. For passport destinations, you must send a photo of yourself, your Ducati and a specific sign or marker at the destination to the club for verification.
See the New England Ducati Owners Club web site for the official rules.
The sites in Vermont are the Bennington Battle Monument, the Shelburne Museum, Quechee Gorge, the Robert Frost Wayside Marker in Ripton and St. Johnsbury Athenaeum in St. Johnsbury VT. For a complete list of rally sites and events see the 2010 Passport Rally post on the NEDOC web site.
Participation in the rally is free and open to all registered Desmo Owner Club members. To participate, pickup an empty passport at a participating Ducati Dealer. Cyclewise, Ducati-Vermont in New Haven is a participating dealer.
All entrants are eligible for prizes. Awards will be given to the rider with the most stamps, the woman with the most stamps, entrants with all participating New England dealers, and for the most NEDOC events.
The rally officially started May 1 and runs until the awards ceremony on September 11 at the Laz Anderson European Motorcycle show in Brookline MA.
