The 3rd Annual Moose Run Ride is Sunday, September 12th. The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. with breakfast at JP’s Restaurant and Deli in Essex Junction. There will be a group ride at 10 a.m. followed by the Moose Burger BBQ at 1 p.m. and the drawing for the Community High School of Vermont project bike at 2 p.m.
The Moose Foundation is a charitable organization that helps bikers injured in crashes. The Foundation started when Bruce Brown collided with a moose on VT-17 in August of 2007. Friends of Brown raised money to aid his recovery and started the foundation to help injured motorcyclists.
The Community High School of Vermont project bike is a custom-built 1986 Dyna Glide with a root beer orange and crème paint scheme. The bike was the 2009-2010 student project for the Community High School of Vermont students. Read this story to learn more about the Community High School of Vermont project. Raffle tickets for the bike are $50.
