The 3rd Annual Moose Run Ride is Sunday, September 12th. The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. with breakfast at JP’s Restaurant and Deli in Essex Junction. There will be a group ride at 10 a.m. followed by the Moose Burger BBQ at 1 p.m. and the drawing for the Community High School of Vermont project bike at 2 p.m.

The Moose Foundation is a charitable organization that helps bikers injured in crashes. The Foundation started when Bruce Brown collided with a moose on VT-17 in August of 2007. Friends of Brown raised money to aid his recovery and started the foundation to help injured motorcyclists.

The Community High School of Vermont project bike is a custom-built 1986 Dyna Glide with a root beer orange and crème paint scheme. The bike was the 2009-2010 student project for the Community High School of Vermont students. Read this story to learn more about the Community High School of Vermont project.
